Up to now since 2012, KWAFU has reported 150 cases of South Korean civilian abductions by North Korea during Korean War to UN WGEID, one of whose primary task is to assist families in determining the fate or whereabouts of their family members who are reportedly disappeared. For this purpose the Group transmits reports of enforced disappearances received to the governments concerned and request them to carry out investigations and to inform the Working Group of the results repeatedly until the fate or whereabouts of the person is determined.
